Macrogol Oleyl Ethers
for pharmaceutical industry
The PCC Group manufactures a number of chemicals dedicated to the pharmaceutical industry. They meet the highest international quality standards for the production of medicines and other pharmaceutical products. The offer of the PCC Group for pharmacy apart from ethoxylated oleyl alcohols includes chlorine and chlorinated products as well as other chemical substances, for example, macrogols or ethoxylated cetearyl alcohols.
We provide the following ethoxylated oleyl alcohols:
- ROKAnol O10PF (Oleth-10)
- ROKAnol O20PF (Oleth-20)
Please see details below.
ROKAnol O10PF
Oleth-10 (CAS No.: 9004-98-2)
ROKAnol O10PF is an ethoxylated oleyl alcohol belonging to the nonionic surfactants group. It comes in the form of a white solid with a waxy consistency. It is characterised by good dispersing, solubilising, and thickening properties.
ROKAnol O10PF fulfils the strict quality requirements set forth in the Pharmacy Code, collected and published in the latest edition of European Pharmacopoeia. This allows the product to be classified as part of the Macrogol Oleyl Ether group.
ROKAnol O10PF has a strong hydrophilic character due to its degree of ethoxylation of oleyl alcohol, which is excellent for stable oil-in-water (O / W) emulsions. Due to very good emulsifying properties, ROKAnol O10PF can be used in the process of preparing emulsions at room temperature. This is important when using high temperature sensitive active ingredients, which are a common ingredient in many systems.
The very good dispersing and stabilising properties of ROKAnol O10PF are very important when creating stable formulations in which the active substance is present in solid form, such as in ointments. Good dispersion of the active substance in the product allows it to distribute evenly on the skin. This ability of ROKAnol O10PF is especially used in the formulation of spray dressings.
ROKAnol O20PF
Oleth-20 (CAS No.: 9004-98-2)

ROKAnol O20PF has a strong hydrophilic character due to the degree of ethoxylation of oleyl alcohol, which is excellent for stable oil-in-water (O / W) emulsions. Given the very good emulsifying properties, ROKAnol O20PF is especially recommended for emulsions prepared in room temperature. This is important when using particularly high temperature active ingredients, which are a common ingredient in many emulsions.
